One thing we love about our Manchester pottery studio, situated just outside of the city centre, is the space we have inside for large groups. We think a private pottery class is the perfect activity for your end-of-year Christmas celebrations with your team, here's a couple of reasons why:
- Everyone loves an experience
The standard dinner and drinks can get a bit old, especially when restaurants are busy, booked up at the best times, and the set menus and pre-orders can make it all feel a little impersonal. A pottery class is a great way to do something different, and it's adaptable to your needs. We have enough space at our studio for you to order in food if you'd like, you can BYO, and there's enough time and space for everyone to mingle and actually speak to each other! Nowadays, it's experiences over extravagance.
- It's inclusive
Not everyone loves loud parties or adrenaline inducing activities. Pottery is pretty relaxed, inclusive, and beginner friendly. When we host a private group class we notice that all kinds of personalities enjoy the experience - creatives love to play and explore, and competitive types can get really into nailing the techniques and skills we teach. It's suitable for all ages and genders, and it doesn't centre the event around alcohol.
- It's fun and challenging!
The wheels will certainly take you out of your comfort zone in the beginning, which usually provides a lot of laughter over wobbly pots and celebration over the small wins! Towards the end of the class everyone tends to be feeling unexpectedly proud of their progress. Experiencing the rollercoaster that is learning to use the wheels really does get people chatting and bonding.
- Our space to yourselves
Having a space large enough for groups was high on the criteria when we opened our studio. When you book a team-building event with us, the space is yours. Bring or order in food and drinks, put on your music and make yourselves at home.
- Top teaching & experienced hosts
Georgie is the studio owner and she has taught pottery to complete beginners for over 10 years. Her style is relaxed, but fun, giving you expert tips and advice where you need it, but also the space and freedom to get a feel for working with the clay and to socialise with your team.
- Everyone gets something!
Our private pottery classes allow all guests to have 1-2 of the items they make glazed and fired. This process takes around 3 weeks to complete, so in the New Year, you'll need to come back to pick up all the pieces your team has made - see how the pieces have all turned out and chat about it all over again!
If you're looking for a fun and inclusive activity for your end-of-year party this year then have a read of our info pack here and get in touch to find out about our availability for December 2025!
